Statement on ICE Activity in Maine and Nationwide
Caring Unlimited stands firmly committed to our mission: to work with the community to end domestic violence, and to provide critical safety planning to anyone experiencing abuse regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, country of origin, immigration status, gender, or income.
As an organization that works every day to end domestic abuse and increase safety, we decry violence and the abuse of power in all its forms. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement tactics on display in Maine, Minneapolis and other communities are ones that we recognize. Manipulating facts, denying truth, hateful and threatening language, blaming victims for harm caused, and sowing fear and isolation, are all tactics of domestic abuse and violence.
