Legal Advocacy
Help with Protection From Abuse Orders, Parental Rights
and Responsibilities and Pro Se Divorce at Biddeford,
Springvale and York District Courts.
Education and Support Groups
A variety of day and evening groups throughout York
County, offering safety planning information, encouragement,
hope and strength.
Emergency Shelter
Temporary safe haven and support services for people
who are unsafe in their own homes because of domestic
violence. Help with food, clothing, and other needs
to achieve safety by the time folks leave shelter.
Transitional Housing and Services
Affordable housing and support services for up to 24
months, designed to help formerly battered women rebuild
their lives after leaving an abusive relationship.
Community Response Program
Education and training with agencies, organizations,
schools and the general public to increase awareness
about effective strategies for responding to and preventing
domestic violence.
Young Adults Against Dating
Abuse (YAADA)
Many battered women tell us their first abusive relationship
occurred in high school. YAADA provides education
and assistance to faculty and students in York County
high schools to prevent teen dating violence. (Click

York County Domestic Violence Task Force
CU and our District Attorney’s office organized
YCDVTF to bring representatives from all groups affected
by domestic violence together to look at new ways
to work together to respond effectively. We can use
