Parent Support Services

CU's Parent Support Services respond to parents of children who have lived or are living with an abusive parent or family member. Domestic violence affects every member of the family including the children. Children almost always see and hear more than we believe they do.

Parent Support Services provides:

  • Parenting groups that help cultivate strong parenting skills for mothers who are sole caregivers
  • Children’s activity groups that provide a safe, nurturing environment for children to articulate their experiences
  • Assistance with material needs such as clothing and school supplies
  • On site childcare while mothers are attending Support Groups

CU's Domestic Violence/Child Protective Services Liaison provides information and consultation with CPS caseworkers, and individualized safety planning and support to non-offending parents who have experienced domestic abuse and are involved with CPS.
